Aiming at tailor-made support for individual researchers and fostering cooperation among the U4 partners in the common research foci, the "Joint Expertise Sharing" (JES) platform was set up to make information about potential supervisors easily accessible, thereby fostering the establishment of internationally composed thesis committees.
The platform is an essential part of the U4 website. The outstanding specialties of the participating academics (potential supervisors, current and completed PhD projects they supervise(d), their past, ongoing and planned research projects, relevant conferences etc.) are systematically recorded and conveyed to doctoral researchers. In this way, the JES platform enables the optimal use of the broad range of expertise allocated at the four partner universities, and employs the joint expertise of the four partners for the establishment of an excellent campus for PhD training.
