university of tartu main buildingThe U4Society Social Sciences, Economics and Law (SSEL) Conference on "Social Responsibility in Challenging Times" is organised from 6 to 8 October 2021 in Tartu in the premises of the University of Tartu. The conference aims to bring together researchers and PhD students from the participating U4Society Network universities (Ghent, Göttingen, Groningen, Uppsala and Tartu) and the universities from the ENLIGHT consortium (Basque Country, Bordeaux, Comenius Bratislava, Galway, Ghent, Göttingen, Groningen, Tartu, and Uppsala).



2020 EU Conference 0307In light of Germany’s Presidency of the Council of Europe, the University of Göttingen together with help from its partner universities, is organising the Conference 'United in Diversity: A Europe of Sustainability – Challenges and Perspectives' from 19 to 20 November 2020. We want to discuss the challenges of our society towards sustainable development and possible contributions of science to this as well as to show examples of the potential that sustainable dialogue and cooperation between different stakeholders can have.

Sharing experiences and learning from one another are fundamental goals of the U4Society activities. Also the 'IPT&L' Conference supports staff members of the U4Society to connect and to enhance shared understanding on how teaching in an international classroom and working in an increasingly internationalised academic environment can be improved.

Conducted as a yearly event for teaching staff, programme coordinators and curriculum developers, the IPT&L conference’s 2020 theme is 'Student Engagement through Partnership. Students as partners in Teaching and Learning'. Both IPT&L-alumni and new U4Society colleagues, as well as students are invited to contribute and to take part in the discussions.

In this respect, the IPT&L-programme supports staff members of the U4 Universities to connect and to enhance understanding on how teaching in an international classroom and working in an increasingly international academic environment can be improved.

Conducted as yearly event for teaching staff, programme coordinators and curriculum developers the IPT&L conference seeks to provide training on what is required to organize and facilitate a high-quality degree programme from an international point of view. The conference is arranged in order to combine interdisciplinary perspectives and different didactical approaches. It invites scholars and programme coordinators, academic lecturers and consultants in international programmes to discuss their teaching experiences, methodologies and ideas.

The 2019 conference theme was 'From Theory to Practice. From Discussion to Cooperation'. Both IPT&L-alumni and new U4 colleagues were invited to contribute and to take part in the discussions.



ACCOMPLISSHA conference that is targeted at senior research managers, research directors, deans and staff members of EU DGs and focuses of the role of co-creation processes in order to tackle European and global societal challenges will take place in Brussels on February 27.

At the conference, the results of the Horizon 2020 funded project ACCOMPLISSH will be showcased and discussed. The EU project, which expires this year, analysed the process of co-creation between stakeholders from industry, society, government and academia by focusing on Social Sciences and Humanities research.
