From 14 to 16 May Ghent University's International Office opens its doors to the world and offers a programme about 'Staff Mobility'. The aim of this Staff Training is to welcome both teaching and non-teaching staff to share experiences with regard to improving the implementation and recognition of staff mobility, as well as to promoting and supporting staff mobility.
From 16 to 18 January 2019, the final session of the third round of the U4 Leadership Programme took place in Göttingen. Under the title 'Managing change and preparing for the future', participants from all four partner universities learned about different frameworks facilitating the management of change and reflected about success factors and obstacles in change processes.
The U4 Leadership programme is a training course targeted at top-level executives in academia and administration. One cycle consists of four meetings, each hosted by one of the U4 partners. This year’s programme started with a session on developing academic talent in Groningen (February 2018), followed by a session on creating transparency and accountability in European universities in Ghent (May/June 2018) and a session on leading top quality universities in Uppsala (November 2018).
From 13 to 17 May 2019, the University of Groningen will organize its 5th Erasmus+ Staff week. The theme of this event will be ‘The ideal research support office’.
Different aspects of the question ‘How is research supported at universities?’, will be highlighted. The main topics will be:
Graduate Schools
How are the Graduate schools organised and how do they operate? How does the university support PhD students and give them a platform to develop themselves as researchers and prepare them for their future career?
Research Impact & Open Science
How can we enhance and measure the academic and societal impact of research? Open access becomes a more and more familiar concept, but how do you realize openness in research?
Ghent University and the European University Foundation invited higher education staff dealing with international partnerships or quality assurance professionals to join this cutting-edge training on quality in university partnerships.
From May 14th to May 18th 2018 a group of Göttingen colleagies visited Uppsala University for an individual staff exchange week within the Erasmus Staff Mobility Program.
The Göttingen group consisted of colleagues o the Presidential Office and the Göttingen Campus Office. Therefore, they chose to spend a week in the Vice-Chancellor’s Office of Uppsala University to get to know the colleagues within the U4 Network and exchange ideas and experiences about daily operations.
