4 1 klein Uppsala University, founded in 1477, was the first university in Sweden and is ranked among the top 100 universities in the world.

Uppsala University is a research university with well-defined missions: to conduct research and education of the highest quality and to collaborate with the surrounding community so as to help make the world a better place.

The University's nine faculties create opportunities not only for the pursuit of in-depth subject knowledge but also for cross-disciplinary research and teaching. Uppsala University upholds its academic independence and at the same time forges relations with the wider world.
