aula kleinIn celebration of the 70th anniversary of the International Office of the University of Göttingen, festivities will be held on the 8th of November from 1:00 to 4:30 p.m. in the Aula at Wilhelmsplatz.

In a public ceremony, which will be held at the University's Assembly Hall, in the Aula am Wilhelmsplatz, guests will be presented with an entertaining programme following a welcoming address from the University's President, the DAAD, the HRK, and the MWK. The programme will span some of the history of Göttingen International, with contributions from former students, international partners, scientists and scholars from the University of Göttingen. In conclusion, a panel discussion will take place on how the challenges of a rapidly growing internationalisation can best be mastered within the university environment.



International Curricula 2017 smallWe invite you to join us for an exchange of ideas and good practices on the internationalisation of the curricula across the disciplines, with a particular focus on the role of international classrooms, both on our local campus and in shared virtual spaces.

Distinguished scholars and practioners from the field, among them em. Prof. Elspeth Jones (Leeds Beckett University) and Dr. Jos Beelen (Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences), will share their expertise in plenary sessions. Highly interactive workshop sessions will provide a hands-on approach to curriculum (re)design and an opportunity for networking. Peer Review Groningen 2017In Groningen on 20th and 21st of September 2017 the U4 partners shared their experiences on transfer of innovations and building a campus eco-structure.

On behalf of the Board of the University of Groningen Mr. Jan de Jeu welcomed the participants and gave a brief introduction on Campus Groningen.

The University of Groningen has a campus in the City Center for Humanities, Law, Social Sciences; a Healthy Aeging Campus including the Academic Hospital and the Zernike Campus which is shared with the University of Applied Sciences and startup companies. Furthermore the Fryslân Campus has been opened recently and in 2018 the University of Groningen intends to open the Campus Yantai in China.

career2017The third module in the staff training cycle ‘Professionalization of Career Services in a Global Context’ took place from 20 to 22 September and was hosted by the university of Groningen. The central topic of this workshop was ‘Future trends – What’s new in our field’.

This training programme gathered around 20 career professionals from the 4 universities and started off with getting together and reconnecting again in 4 intervision groups: one group for PhD & postdoc researchers, two groups working on student-related topics, one group working on alumni.

Intervision is an important part of this staff training as a structural peer-learning format in which best practices are shared and views on particular topics are exchanged among colleagues who share the same expertise. Working on concrete topics in these intervision groups is highly appreciated by all participants.
