The summer school offers students (advanced BA, MA and beginning PhD students) from any discipline the opportunity to learn about the many facets of data science (e.g., data management, program analyzing, analyzing data, communicating results, ...). Extended deadline is 15 March 2017
The main focus of the hadron collider physics summer school (HASCO) are introductory topics in elementary particle physics. This summer school includes lectures on theoretical foundations of the standard model of elementary particle physics as well as experimental techniques to test it. Deadline is 31 March 2017
'Spirit' Summer School 'The material culture of exploration and academic travel, 1700-1900'
The summer school focuses on scientific travel throughout four thematic sections, offering five PhD candidates the opportunity to present their research with one expert commenting and leading the discussion. A keynote lecture is brought by James Delbourgo (Harvard) on the origins of the British Museum. Deadline is 15 March 2017
The summer school welcomes up to 20 advanced international students working on diachronic aspects of grammar and semantics/pragmatics, with a special focus on the interfaces between morphosyntax, semantics and pragmatics. Extended deadline is 10 March 2017
This summer school will provide a platform for theoretical, comparative and historical reflections and discursive critique on religion, conflict and peace. The Summer School is directed to PhD students of all U4 partner universities. Deadline is 30 June 2017
6th Groningen Energy Summer School 'Yes, In My Backyard!'
The Groningen Energy Summer School (GESS) 2017 takes an interdisciplinary approach to the societal and technological dimensions of the energy transition. By combining a broad range of disciplines, this event will offer a unique opportunity to PhD students to become aware of different aspects of energy transition. Deadline is 15 March 2017
The AMR summer school offers medical students and life science & technology students to learn all major aspect of AMR from top experts. An innovative aspect of the summer school is the bedside hands-on teaching/practical of representative patient cases in the ‘skills lab’, with patients played by professional actors. Deadline is 1 June 2017
The University of Groningen (RUG) is hosting a range of summer schools in Groningen and elsewhere in the world. Summer schools are a wonderful way to bring bright students and inspired researchers together to work intensively on important topics. RUG summer schools are always research-driven, and many of them are multidisciplinary, offering a wide range of perspectives. Some of them will especially highlight the University's priority research themes: Sustainable Energy, Healthy Ageing and Sustainable Society.
